Guild displays 'Harvest of Quilts'

SYCAMORE – On Sept. 29 and 30, the DeKalb County Quilters’ Guild will host its Harvest of Quilts 2012 quilt show at Sycamore Middle School. The cost of admission is $5 each day or $6 for a two-day pass and can be paid at the door.  Children 12 and younger are admitted free.

About 200 pieces by local quilters, in sizes from bed quilts to wall hangings to miniature quilts, will be displayed. The quilted pieces will be judged by Maribeth Schmit, NQA-certified quilt judge, lecturer, instructor and award-winning quilter. The featured artist at the show will be Lois Jarvis.

Guild members have made 100 small quilted items for a silent small quilt auction. Members will also sell items at a handmade gift boutique. Quilting and sewing supplies will be available for purchase from the merchants’ mall. A lunch will be catered by Shawn’s Restaurant and Deli from Sycamore.
