Indian Creek wins $10K

SHABBONA – Indian Creek District 425 received a $10,000 grant from Monsanto in the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program. The check was presented during homecoming, just before the varsity volleyball match on Sept. 21.

America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education gives farmers the opportunity to nominate their public school district for a $10,000 or $25,000 merit-based grant to enhance math and science education. After a three-tier grant review process, Dist. 425 was selected as one of 11 winners in Illinois.

More than 61,000 farmers nominated 3,342 school districts this year. More than $2.3 million will be invested in districts in 39 states.
