Quilt raffle supports senior centers

DeKALB – The Resource Bank Classics Club has finished this year’s quilt. Under the direction of Sally Davis, quilters Chris Willert, Clara Coffey, Sue Mullins, Doris Hoard, Louise Olson, Dorothy Smith and Sadie Lunn constructed the beautiful Classic Sampler Quilt. Special thanks go to Eileen Lenninger of the Stitching Place in Indianola, Iowa, for her donation of materials and her expertise in helping to create the design of this year’s quilt.

It is the sixteenth quilt these ladies have made since 1996. Each year, the quilt is raffled and the proceeds are donated to a not-for-profit organization in DeKalb County. The beneficiary this year is the Family Service Agency’s Senior Centers of DeKalb County.

The quilt drawing will be held on Dec. 8 at the Classics Annual Holiday Party. Tickets for a chance to win the quilt are $1 each or six for $5 and are available at any Resource Bank location. The quilt will be on display on a rotating basis at all of the Resource Bank branches from September through December.
