Speaker explores Illinois pension crisis
DeKALB – An independent expert on government funding will appear in DeKalb at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, to examine possible solutions to the funding crisis in Illinois.
Ralph Martire, executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability, will speak in the Capitol Room at the Holmes Student Center on the corner of Normal Road and Lucinda Avenue at 7 p.m. The presentation, sponsored by the NIU Annuitants' Association, is free and open to the public.
The Center for Tax and Budget Accountability has a mission to "identify, develop and introduce into the public debate rigorous, nonpartisan, data-driven analysis and progressive, equitable public policy recommendations that will improve the fiscal health of Illinois and other states."
