Carpeting project to limit library access

SYCAMORE – When you stop in at the Sycamore Library, you’ll see a lot has changed since April, and the last major change is about to begin.

“The first two phases of the remodel are complete, with the Children’s Department and Teen Zone up and running in their new spaces,” executive director Sarah Tobias said. “Next, we’re tackling the window repairs, finishing up phase three – a new reference desk and reworked office space – and the final phase, recarpeting the second floor.”

During the recarpeting, which will take place between Sept. 10 and 30, the second floor will be closed to library users. Public computers will be relocated to the meeting room on the first floor during this period, along with newspapers and current magazines, with limited seating. A limited collection of books, movies and DVDs will be available for check out.
