Church plans games, eats for Rally Day

SYCAMORE – The congregation of The Federated Church, 612 W. State St. in Sycamore, invites the public to celebrate Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 9. The day will begin with the 10 a.m. worship service, which will include “water communion,” sharing vials of water collected from summer activities and travels. This is the start of the fall Sunday school program known as Kids’ Club, and all children are welcome.

Following the service, the board of religious education will host games and activities for all ages, including a special giant Jenga which many adults find irresistible. Topping off the morning will be the all-church picnic in Dutton Hall at noon, where hot dogs and the Federated Church barbecue will be served. The board of membership and fellowship will provide the main dishes and beverages. Members and friends are asked to bring a dessert or side dish to share, as well as lawn chairs and their own table service.

RSVP to 815-895-2706.
