Concert aims to encourage, inspire

SYCAMORE – Janine Mahalick has shared her love of Jesus Christ through song since 1975, performing across the United States and in Germany and Slovakia. At 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, she will perform at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave. in Sycamore, as part of the church’s Jessie Viner concert series.

Mahalick wants to encourage people through her words and songs. She has been a radio guest and appeared on WLJC television several times in concert. She has also performed in a wide array of venues including homecomings, churches, nursing homes and concert auditoriums. She often visits people who are shut in and gives them a personal concert.

There will be two CDs available for purchase after the concert, “Heavenly News” and “The Journey.” Mahalick is in the process of making a new recording with her son, Jim, which should be finished before Christmas.
