$2 raffle ticket could win $1,000 painting

DeKALB – At the July meeting of the Kishwaukee Valley Art League, professional watercolorist Gordon France painted a scene of the Third Street and Lincoln Highway intersection in DeKalb. France donated the 30-inch-by-22-inch watercolor painting to the art league.

France’s work in this size usually sells between $900 and $1,200. The art league is conducting a raffle to find a new home for this scene.

Raffle tickets are $2 each or three for $5. Proceeds from the raffle will be divided equally between the “KVAL Art of Giving” program and the KVAL general fund. Tickets can be purchased at KVAL’s monthly meetings or by mail. Mail requests should be sent to Jim Dester, 142 Rowantree Road, Sycamore, IL 60178. The drawing will be held on the first Thursday in December at the regular meeting of the art league.
