Grow summer survivors
SYCAMORE – As the hot, dry summer drags on, potted cacti and succulents are the perfect survivors during these arid conditions.
Join a one-hour Cacti and Succulent Container Gardening program at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at University of Illinois Extension of DeKalb County. In this hands-on workshop, Extension Horticulture Educator Candice Miller teaches about the various species of cacti and succulents, as well as the care needed for these plants. Participants will then create their own container garden to take home.
Cacti and succulent plants require minimal watering and care. They thrive in the summer heat and have interesting plant forms and flowers.
