Potential for dangerous heat this week

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for DeKalb County for the entire week, through Saturday, July 7.

The NWS is expecting a heat wave, with daytime highs in the 90s and heat indices as high as 105 degrees every day this week.

There is a chance of thunderstorms, some severe, on Monday and Wednesday. While these storms are not likely to last long, they could bring high winds and damaging hail. Any relief the rain may bring from the heat is expected to be short-lived.
