DeKALB – Katie Eich of Kishwaukee Community Hospital was named nurse of the year by KishHealth System. The award was presented at the recent KishHealth System Employee Recognition Dinner.

Eich, an emergency room nurse, received her bachelor’s in nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University and is enrolled at Northern Illinois University in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.

She began her career at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Wash., and joined KishHealth System in 2005 in the medical/surgical unit at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. She transferred to the emergency department in 2007.
