DeKalb treats trees for ash borer
DeKALB – The city of DeKalb is working with a local tree service licensed with the state of Illinois for the insecticidal treatment of the emerald ash borer. City parkway trees will be treated unless they are infested with the borer, damaged in any way, or a heavily pruned tree under ComEd power lines. Trees that cannot be treated will be removed and replaced by the city as they die.
Residents currently treating any parkway trees will need to contact the public works department street operations division at 815-748-2040 so records of treatments can be established.
For more information, call the street operations division at 815-748-2040.
