Welcome to the Welcome Cafe
DeKALB – Tears came readily to her eyes.
"It's very emotional to me," Lisa Wilcox said. "It's exciting seeing a vision become reality."
It was Wilcox who came up the idea for the Welcome Cafe, which debuted May 12 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb. Other local soup kitchens provide dinners, so the cafe decided to offer a free breakfast instead. The meal was open to anyone in the community.
