Church service with New Orleans flavor

DeKALB – Are you ready for some hand-clappin’, swingin’ and swayin’, finger-snappin’ worship music?

First United Methodist Church in DeKalb will hold two New Orleans Jazz Worship Services, at 9 and 11 a.m., on Sunday, May 27.

DeKalb’s own A Wing and a Prayer Dixieland Orchestra will perform and will be an integral part of a lively celebration of Pentecost, the time when the Spirit of the Lord came upon the disciples. There will be gospels and spirituals with a New Orleans tradition, a special children’s time, an interactive biblical Pentecost reading by Senior Pastor Jon Hutchison and the band, and a lot of lively, God-filled fun.
