On the record ... with Matthew Clark

DeKALB – The House Cafe is a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

The cafe’s role changes daily – sometimes hourly – as it transitions from a venue for live bands to a stage with an open mic to a dance studio to a church to a coffee shop to an indie movie theater to a place to organize a community event.

Watching over these transitions and keeping things running smoothly is Matthew Clark, manager of the cafe under two of its three owners in the last 10 years.
