Free breakfast celebrates Mom

DeKALB – A free community breakfast will be served from 9 until 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 12, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb, 158 N. Fourth St. in DeKalb.

The meal is sponsored by the Welcome Cafe and catered by Sunn Flower Gourmet Catering. The menu will include steel-cut oatmeal with garnishes such as cinnamon, raisins, sauteed apples and fresh berries; fruit salad; assorted breads; coffee, juice and milk.

The Welcome Cafe is a new nonprofit group that aims to serve healthy, affordable meals with dignity for all, particularly those of low income. They also hope to have information available about job networking, foreclosure prevention and other resources of support.
