GENOA – If space reservations are any indication, Genoa can look forward to a great season for Open Air Markets.
The markets are returning for the fifth year at the corner of Main and Genoa Streets. They are held the fourth Saturday of every month from May 26 through October.
“Space reservations have been very strong this spring,” executive director Mim Evans said. “We are close to full for the first market over Memorial Day weekend, and more than half of the spaces are reserved for the entire season. If there is demand, we will look for ways to expand so we can accommodate all the vendors who are interested.”
More than 10,000 cars pass by the Route 72 location on an average market day, when farmers, home-based businesses, nonprofits and individual vendors can reach out to the public.
Fees remain the same as last year: $10 for fresh produce and nonprofit organizations and $20 for everyone else. Reserve a space for five markets and the sixth market is free. Tents can be rented for $10 per market.
Reservations can be made online at genoamainstreet.com, by email at email@example.com or by calling 815-784-6961.
