Kiwanis clean out the closet

DeKALB – The Kishwaukee Kiwanis will host its third annual rummage sale at the Hopkins Park shelter house in DeKalb from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Friday, May 4 and 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5. A variety of items will be offered, most priced at less than $2.

Last year’s sale raised about $1,200. Funds go back into the community through donations to groups such as Hope Haven, Safe Passage, Children’s Learning Center, DeKalb Public Library, the Egyptian Theatre, scholarships for DeKalb High School students and various other organizations. Any unsold items at the end of the sale go to the Salvation Army for further use within our community.

Anyone with gently used items to donate can drop them off between 1 and 6 p.m., May 2 and 3. Clothing must be clean and stain-free. For information, visit www.kishkiwanis.org.
