Kirkland ministries discussed at dinner

KIRKLAND – The evangelism team of the First Lutheran Church of Kirkland invites the community to an open house and free dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 6. Guests are asked to bring nonperishable food items for the Kirkland Food Pantry.

The event will kick off with three short informational presentations. Mary-Beth Howe will give a short talk on the Kirkland closet. John Royalty will talk about the Kirkland food pantry and how it helps to fill the nutritional needs of the community. The choir will sing several favorite songs. The Rev. Carl Rasmussen will give a brief history of the church in the community and a narration of several of the banners that adorn the church.

Following Rasmussen’s talk, a dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs and bratwurst will be served with side dishes and desserts donated by members of the congregation.
