Girl Scout volunteers recognized

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois honored local volunteers and elected new members to the council’s board of directors and board development committee at the organization’s annual meeting.

Tomi Griesenauer and Jody Jones of Sycamore received the Girl Scout Appreciation Pin, awarded to volunteers actively giving outstanding service to at least one geographic area. Griesenauer serves in the Doubletree Service Unit and is a dedicated troop leader. Her passion, enthusiasm and positive attitude show how she has made Girl Scouting a way of life. She regularly attends Girl Scout conventions and conveys to her teenage Girl Scouts the importance of making their voices heard.

Jones holds the positions of service unit co-manager, service unit events co-chair, day camp overnight nurse, day camp unit leader, day camp director and troop leader. She has hosted many successful events which demonstrate a positive leadership image to the girls in her troop.
