Flowers can be pretty...tasty

SYCAMORE – There are more than 50 edible flowers. Can you name any edible flowers? What does a flower taste like?  How do you prepare flowers for dinner?

Sycamore History Museum and the University of Illinois Extension DeKalb County Master Gardeners will present “Edible Flowers” at their next Back on the Farm Gardening workshop at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 9. The free workshop will be held at the history museum, 1730 N. Main St. in Sycamore.

Master Gardener Misty Haji-Sheikh will present the workshop. Haji-Sheikh has been a Master Gardener since 2003. She was awarded the rookie of the year and the state Outstanding Master Gardener award.
