Are you interested in local history? Do you like talking and visiting with people? Do you have a few hours, either weekly or monthly, to spare? Now is your chance to discover the variety of volunteer opportunities at the DeKalb County History Center. Whether it’s welcoming guests, leading tours, assisting with the collection, helping with gardening or building repairs, a wide variety of talent is needed.
"Volunteers are the backbone of the History Center. We have a great core, but as we grow we can use more help," Michelle Donahoe, executive director, said in a news release. “Some jobs will be simple, such as the reception area. Other positions, such as working in the Joiner History Room or in the artifact collection will require in-depth training over a period of time.”
