KIRKLAND – Tonda Bruch and Kerry Williams from Resource Bank's forthcoming Kirkland branch recently presented Kirkland resident Chris Brantley with a check for $10,000 at a Hiawatha basketball game.

Brantley was the winner of the Kick-off for Kash at the final regular football game of the season when Hiawatha returned their half-opening receiving kick for a touchdown. The 2019 local football season saw two Kick-off for Kash winners, with Sycamore resident Scott Schulz winning $10,000 at a Sycamore High School game in September.

Resource Bank has been sponsoring the Kick-off For Kash program since 2007 as a way to support local high school programs. The Sports Boosters of Hiawatha High School, the Science Fiction Club of Sycamore High School and the Sports Boosters of DeKalb High School, Genoa-Kingston High School and Hampshire High School retain all proceeds from ticket sales for their program needs.

Each school offers tickets for purchase at their home games, and the winning ticket is drawn that night. The raffle ticket winner is announced before the kick-off. If that person is present and the home team returns the half-opening receiving kick for a touchdown, that person wins the grand prize.

The Kick-off for Kash season is over, but there is still time to visit a local high school basketball game to participate in another of Resource Bank’s sports programs that benefit local high school organizations – the Shoot for the Loot. For more information, call Resource Bank at 815-756-6321.
